I'm not one for very touristy spots but we made the trip to Bangkok's Grand Palace anyways, because really why not? However, the palace was so crowded with Chinese tour groups that even getting to the entrance was unbearable. We were also feeling too cheap to pay the 500 baht entrance fee so we moved on. Just two blocks over we found Wat Pho.
Half as crowded and a fifth of the price you can't beat it. It has the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, the largest reclining Buddha and is home to a famous massage school for when you can't walk anymore.
